Maly Alaverdi Church

Maly Alaverdi, also known as the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, is a church dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, located in the Kakheti and Kurmukhi Eparchy of the Georgian Orthodox Church in the city of Gakh, in the Gakh district of Azerbaijan. The name "Maly Alaverdi" originates from the Cathedral of St. George in the Alaverdi monastery complex in Kakheti, a historical region in eastern Georgia. Every year on September 14 (Julian calendar), the church's patronal feast day, called "Alaverdoba," is celebrated in accordance with Kakhetian traditions.
