Apollo Cinema

The "Apollo" cinema was built in 1909 and is one of the first buildings of its kind. Its Art Nouveau architectural style is considered one of the most outstanding examples. The building has three floors and is distinguished by a domed cylindrical volume directed towards Agmashenebeli Avenue and I.A. Kargareteli. The cinema's facades are unusual - they are neither rectangular nor arched, with large windows and a giant Ionic slab with partitions. Art Nouveau decorations include composite garlands and verges with symbolic figurative reliefs. The stucco molding on the building emphasizes the contour of its execution, and a modern-style multi-sign complements the cinema's interior.
