Armenian Church

The Church of Christ the Savior in Batumi, Georgia, is a temple of the Armenian Apostolic Church located on Konstantine Gamsakhurdia Street. During the Soviet era, the church was closed and used as a warehouse, and then in 1959 it was converted into an observatory. Thanks to the efforts of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the local Armenian community, and the Republic of Armenia, the church was returned to Armenians in 1992 and began its activities in 1995. However, a real revival came after the completion of reconstruction, which lasted from 1993 to 2000. Since then, the church has become a center for over 8,000 Armenians living in Batumi.
