Eyüp Cemetery

Eyüp Cemetery (Turkish: Eyüp Mezarlığı) is a historical cemetery located in the Eyüp district, in the European part of Istanbul (Turkey). It is managed by the General Directorate of Foundations (Turkish: Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü) and is one of the oldest and largest Muslim cemeteries in the city. The cemetery grounds contain the burials of Ottoman sultans, their courtiers, grand viziers, high-ranking religious figures, state officials and military commanders, as well as intellectuals, scientists, artists, and poets. This place holds immense historical significance and is a site of worship and remembrance for many people.
