Miniatürk

Miniatürk in Istanbul is a museum park on the Golden Horn, opened in 2003 under the slogan “A small model of a great country.” Across six hectares, it displays 1:25-scale models of Turkish and international architectural monuments, including Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Süleymaniye Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, the former Atatürk Airport, Haydarpaşa Station and Galatasaray High School. The park is divided into three sections: landmarks of Istanbul, attractions from other Turkish cities, and historic Ottoman buildings outside modern Turkey. It also includes a playground, miniature train, railway with moving vehicles, airport with aircraft models and canals carrying miniature ships, creating the impression of a living small world.

Information panels stand beside the models, and audio descriptions are available in several languages. Some displays come alive with human figures, while others are interactive, allowing visitors to play an anthem in a stadium or watch moving transport, making the visit lively and engaging.
