Jinli-kala Fortress

Jinli-kala is an ancient fortress located near the settlement of Ilisu in the Gakh region of Azerbaijan. According to some sources, it was built in the 7th-9th centuries, during a time of constant invasions and internal conflicts. However, other sources suggest that the fortress was erected in the 18th century. It is possible that it was also used in the early 19th century during clashes between the Russians and the local population. According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the preservation of historical and cultural monuments, Jinli-kala is recognized as a monument of local architectural significance.
