Palace of France. The Palace of France is a magnificent 19th-century building that belongs to France and is located in the Pera district in the center of Istanbul, Turkey. This palace was built by architect Pierre-Leonard Lorecisco between 1839 and 1847, replacing older palaces that had existed since the 17th century. Currently, the building is used as the residence of the Consulate General of France and is one of the symbols of friendship between France and Turkey.
