Okros Tsikhe Fortress

Okros Tsikhe, which translates to "Golden Fortress," is a medieval fortress located in Georgia. It is situated in the southern region of Samtskhe-Javakheti, in the Adigeni Municipality, north of the village of Shoka, on an inaccessible rocky mountain in the historical valley of the Kvafliani River. The fortress played a significant role in the clashes between Georgians and Ottomans in the 16th century. It was also known as Altunkala in Turkish. In 2007, Okros Tsikhe was included in the list of immovable cultural monuments of national significance of Georgia.
