Saint Hovhannes Church

Surb Hovhannes Mkrtich, or the Church of Saint John the Baptist, is a historic and still-active Armenian church in Yerevan’s Kond district.

Since 2000, the church has hosted the Hovhannes Kozern educational center, which offers classes in English, computer literacy, and icon painting. The parish priest is Father Zgon Abrahamyan.

In 2004, the church was added to Yerevan’s State List of Immovable Historical and Cultural Monuments, confirming its historical and cultural value to the city.
