Tomb of Mehmed the Conqueror

The burial place of three sultans - Sultan Mahmud II, Sultan Abdulaziz, and Sultan Abdulhamid, as well as their closest associates, is located in Turkey. Sultan Mehmed II was born on March 30, 1432, in the city of Edirne. His father was the sixth sultan of the Ottoman Empire - Abdul Hamid II, and his mother was Huma Hatun. After the conquest of Istanbul, Sultan Mehmed II proclaimed himself "Roman ruler" (Kayser-i Rum) and throughout his life considered the Ottoman Empire a continuation of the Roman Empire, and himself a "successor" to the Roman Empire, not a replacement.
