Yoros Fortress. Yoros Fortress, also known as the Genoese Fortress, was built at the confluence of the Bosphorus and the Black Sea in the Anadolu Kavağı district of Istanbul. This fortress was controlled by the Genoese in the second half of the 14th century. It is also called the Anadolu Kavağı Fortress. Located on a high hill, Yoros Fortress is surrounded by the small fishing village of Anadolu Kavağı to the north and Yuşa Hill to the south. On the opposite bank of the Bosphorus is the Rumeli Kavağı district.
