Ain Dubai Observation Wheel

Ain Dubai, or the “Eye of Dubai,” rises 250 metres above Bluewaters Island, making it the tallest observation wheel in the world. A full rotation takes 38 minutes, and from the top the view extends for up to 50 kilometres. The attraction can carry as many as 1,750 people at once in 48 cabins, including standard cabins for 30 passengers and VIP cabins with a minibar for 10 guests. The wheel does not operate in poor weather, and after a period of upgrades it reopened to visitors in December 2024.

Ain Dubai required 11,200 tonnes of steel, more than was used to build the Eiffel Tower. Two of the world’s largest cranes, each 180 metres tall, worked on the site, and the structure was engineered to withstand hurricanes, powerful winds and extreme temperatures so that the wheel remains stable in all conditions.
