Belgrade Gate

Belgradkapı is a historic neighborhood in the Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul, Turkey. The name of this district originates from the Belgrade Gate, which was built in honor of the victory of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent in Belgrade in 1521. After the capture of Belgrade, the Sultan relocated its population to various districts of Istanbul, including Belgradkapı.

Belgradkapı is located in the historic part of the city, on both sides of the Belgrade Gate near the Walls of Istanbul. This neighborhood is an important cultural and historical center where one can see architectural monuments and historical sites of the Ottoman Empire. Currently, Belgradkapı is a popular destination for tourists and city residents, attracting with its unique atmosphere and rich history.
