Golden Gate of Yedicule Castle

Yedicule, also known as the Seven Towers Fortress or the Seven Towers Castle, is an important fortified structure beyond the Golden Gate of Theodosia's walls. This fortress was built to protect Constantinople from enemy invasions that could break through the Golden Gate. It also served as the starting point for the Mesa, an important communication route. The fortress has two gates: the outer one, the Golden Gate, and the inner one, leading directly into the city.
