Cathedral of Christ the Savior

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior, also known as Ghazanchetsots, is an Armenian cathedral located in the city of Shusha in Azerbaijan. This architectural complex includes a temple built between 1868 and 1887, as well as a bell tower built in 1858. The architect of the cathedral was Simon Ter-Akopyants, and the builder was Avetis Yeramishyants. The temple is the center of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. During the Second Karabakh War, the cathedral was damaged as a result of shelling. After Shusha returned under the control of Azerbaijan, repair and restoration work began on the cathedral, which the Azerbaijani side presents as restoration.
