Upper Mosque of Gevhar Agha

The Upper Mosque of Gevhar Agha, also known as the Juma Mosque of Gevhar Agha and the Cathedral Mosque, is a Shia mosque located in one of the eight upper quarters of the city of Shusha. During the Soviet period, the mosque was included in the list of state-protected historical monuments and was converted into a local history museum. In front of the mosque, buildings (except for the madrasah) facing Meydan Square were demolished, and a park was created in their place. Thanks to the reconstruction, the main facade of the mosque is now fully open to Meydan, which adds to its beauty and significance.
