Gandzasar Armenian Monastery

Gandzasar is a unique monument of Armenian culture, which is an active monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church. It is located on the picturesque left bank of the Khachinchay River, near the village of Vangli in the Agdere region of Azerbaijan. Until September 2023, the monastery was under the control of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Gandzasar attracts tourists with its rich history and architecture, and is also a place of pilgrimage for believers.
