Church of Saint Nino

The Church of Saint Nino in Alibayli is a historical church dedicated to Saint Nino, who enlightened Georgia. It is located in the village of Alibayli, in the Gakh district of Azerbaijan, and is part of the Kakheti and Kurmukhi Diocese of the Georgian Orthodox Church. The church was built in 1871, when this territory was part of the Russian Empire. This was done on the initiative of the "Society for the Restoration of Orthodox Christianity in the Caucasus," which was engaged in the restoration of Christian churches and monasteries in this region.

In 1991, the revival of the parish of Saint Nino began, and as a result, the reconstruction of the church was completed on January 27, 2011. This significant event marks not only the preservation of historical heritage but also the continuation of spiritual life and worship in this sacred place.
