Kveteri Church

The Kveteri Church (Georgian: კვეტერა) is an ancient Georgian Orthodox church located in the historic fortress town of Kveteri in the Kakheti region. It was built in the 10th century and is a small building in the style of Georgian architecture with a dome. The dome is supported by a drum over a square space, to which apses adjoin on all four sides. Small cells are located between the apses, giving the temple the form of a cross-domed church of the tetraconch type. The facades of the church are decorated with evenly spaced arches, which is characteristic of Kakhetian churches.
