Lomisa Church

Lomisa Church (ლომისა) is an ancient Christian shrine built in the 9th or 10th century and dedicated to Saint George the Victorious. It is located at an altitude of about 2200 meters above sea level on a mountain ridge that separates the valleys of the Ksani and Aragvi rivers. This church is the main place of worship for the inhabitants of the high-mountain region of Mtiuleti and neighboring communities. Additionally, an annual festival is held here on the seventh week after Easter, which includes mass animal sacrifice. Lomisa Church is included in the list of national cultural monuments of Georgia.
