Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts

The Museum of Islamic and Turkish Arts in the palace houses a unique collection of ceramics, carpets, and glassware, which opened to the public in 1983. Located on Hippodrome Square, next to the Blue Mosque and the Egyptian Obelisk, the museum offers visitors a fascinating journey through the Islamic period of the Ottoman Empire from the 6th-7th to the 19th century. The exhibition features stunning household items, ancient Qurans, carpets, and even the headpiece of Hürrem Sultan, which was exhumed from her tomb and is displayed in the carpet hall.
