Egyptian Obelisk

The Obelisk of Theodosius, also known as the Egyptian Obelisk or Dikilitaş in Turkish, is an ancient Egyptian obelisk that was built by Pharaoh Thutmose III in the 18th Dynasty. It was erected on the spina of the Hippodrome of Constantinople, which is known today as At Meydanı or Sultanahmet Meydanı in Istanbul, Turkey. This obelisk was erected by the Roman Emperor Theodosius the Great in 390 AD. The Obelisk of Theodosius is one of the significant historical monuments that can be seen in Istanbul and it continues to attract tourists from all over the world with its unique architecture and historical significance.
