Palace of Ibrahim Pasha

The Palace of Ibrahim Pasha, located in Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul, was built in honor of Pargalı Damat Ibrahim Pasha, the son-in-law and second vizier of Suleiman the Magnificent. Originally known as the "Palace on the Horse Square," the building got its name after Ibrahim Pasha married the sister of Suleiman the Magnificent. Today, this palace houses the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, representing an important example of 16th-century Ottoman civil architecture. Situated at the level of the historic Hippodrome, which dates back to the Roman period, it is one of the city's significant historical landmarks.
