Rezo Gabriadze Theater

The Rezo Gabriadze Tbilisi State Puppet Theater is a unique cultural institution in Tbilisi, located in the historic Old Town district at 13 Shavteli Street. This theater is one of the city's landmarks, and its motto, "May our tears only be from sharp onions," reflects its special atmosphere.

Founded in 1981 by Rezo Gabriadze himself in an ancient quarter, the theater attracts attention not only with its performances but also with its architecture. In 2010, a clock tower was added to the theater building, from which a golden-winged angel appears every hour, striking the hour with a hammer on a bell.

In 1996, the theater opened the cafe "Don't Worry!", the decor of which was personally designed by Rezo Gabriadze. This cafe has become a popular spot among theatergoers and city residents, adding even more coziness and atmosphere to this unique cultural center.
