Sharaps Khan Building

The Sharaps Khan building, located on the banks of the Serapsu stream 15 kilometers west of Alanya, has a history spanning over a century. Built between 1236 and 1246 by order of Deca II, son of Sultan Aladdin Keykubat, this structure was conceived as a caravanserai on the Silk Road route. The walls of the building, constructed on a plot of about an acre, are made of roughly hewn stone. Currently, Sharaps Khan is leased by the General Directorate of Foundations and is used as a restaurant and entertainment center, preserving its historical value as one of the important residential centers of the Middle Ages.
