Tophane Structure

The shipyard and the Artillery Factory in Alanya are two historical structures built during the reign of Anatolian Seljuk Sultan I. Construction began in 1228 near Kızılkule and was completed a year after the city was captured by Alaeddin Keykubad. The facade of the shipyard facing the sea has five arched openings and measures 56.5 meters in length and 44 meters in depth. The location chosen for the construction of the shipyard was designed to maximize natural lighting. The inscription on the entrance door of the shipyard is adorned with the coat of arms of Sultan Keykubat and various decorations.
