Stavropigian Monastery of the Three Priests of Berta

The Stavropigian Monastery of the Three Hierarchs of Samtskhe is an ancient monastery located in the picturesque village of Serta, in the Tsalka municipality, Georgia. This monastery has a rich history, dating back to the 6th-7th centuries when the original church was built. In the 19th century, the church was restored by Pontic Greeks, giving it new grandeur.

Currently, the monastery is an active Orthodox monastery, which received a blessing from Georgian Patriarch Ilia II in 2004. The monastery is home to 6 monks who lead monastic life in accordance with ancient traditions.

The monastery was re-founded in 2013 by Archimandrite Dorotheos (Kurashvili), who did everything possible to revive this sacred place. Currently, the mother superior is Nikolai (Khranitel), who takes care of the well-being and spiritual development of the monastery. The distance from the monastery to the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, is 120 kilometers, making it a convenient place for pilgrimage and spiritual retreat.
