Yunus Draman Mosque

The Terjuman Yunus Mosque, also known as the Dragman Mosque, was built in 1541 in Istanbul. This social complex is located at Draman Street, 43, in the Fatih Draman, Dervis Ali neighborhood. The mosque is situated on a platform above the street and extends from Carsamba to Manyasizade Street to the west. Near the mosque, one can descend to Draman Cesme Street, which leads to Balat. During the time of Suleiman the Magnificent, translators in the palace were called Dragmans, which over time became the Turkish word "Draman." The construction of this complex began in 1541 under the direction of a translator named Yunus.
