Akhmat Pasha Mosque. A former Eastern Orthodox church, built hundreds of years ago, was converted into a mosque in the 16th century. This former temple of John the Baptist was built around the 12th century and after the conquest of Constantinople was turned into a mosque. In the 13th century, it was decided to demolish the temple to build the Fatih Mosque, but the Patriarch decided to make it his residence.
