Haydar Pasha Cemetery

The British Haydarpaşa Cemetery, located above the Haydarpaşa Train Station in Üsküdar-Selimiye, was used for the burial of British soldiers who participated in the Crimean War and died between 1854 and 1856. This site is adjacent to a military hospital that was provided for use by England, an ally of the Ottoman Empire at the time.

In addition to soldiers who died in the Crimean War, British military personnel and civilians who died for various reasons during the First and Second World Wars are also buried in the cemetery. This cemetery belongs to the British Consulate General in Istanbul and serves as a place of remembrance and respect for fallen British citizens who served in various military conflicts.
