Selimiye Mosque. The Selimiye Mosque, also known as the Great Selim Mosque, was built by order of Sultan Selim III during his reign from 1789 to 1807. Located in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul, it was erected between 1801 and 1805 using quality stone in the Ottoman Baroque style, popular in the 18th century.
