Florence Nightingale Museum

The Florence Nightingale Museum is located in the Selimiye Barracks, in the Northwest Tower. This museum was opened in memory of Florence Nightingale's great work during the Crimean War. During the war, when the Ottoman Empire and Britain fought against Russia, the Selimiye Barracks were converted into a military hospital where Florence Nightingale worked and helped the wounded.
