Ikvi Church

The Ikvi Monastery is a unique monument of Georgian architecture of the 11th century, located in the picturesque valley of the Shabtskhala River, a tributary of the Tedzmi, in the Shida Kartli region of the Kaspi municipality. The temple is dedicated to Saint George and features a relief image of a floral cross and the Asomatura inscription, mentioning the founder - Father Arsen.

During the restoration process, the facades and the dome's neck were restored, an underground structure was created to the south of the building, and the mountainside to the north was reinforced with a wall. The temple is built of finely polished blocks and has an elongated cruciform shape.

On November 7, 2006, the President of Georgia granted the church the status of a immovable cultural monument of national significance, recognizing its historical and cultural value.
