Rkoni Monastery

Rkoni is a unique monument of Georgian architecture, located in the picturesque municipality of Kaspi, near the village of Rkoni, at the top of the Khipme valley. This monastic complex was created and rebuilt over many centuries. It has three levels of construction, reflecting different periods of monastic life: the second quarter of the 7th century, the turn of the 13th–14th centuries, and the 17th–18th centuries.

The complex territory is divided into two sections: one with religious buildings, the other with residential and agricultural structures. In the Rkoni complex, you can see the Church of the Virgin Mary, gates, an eghvari, a chapel, a refectory, a tower, a bell tower, a baptistery with gates, and a bridge. This place is imbued with history and spirituality, attracting many tourists and pilgrims with its beauty and atmosphere.
