Shvilo Fortress

Shvilo Fortress, also known as Shvilo Castle, is an ancient fortress built in the 14th century in the Shida Kartli region, Kaspi district, Georgia. It was the first residence of the ducal (tavadic) family of Amilakhvari. Shvilo Castle is located along a ridge surrounded by the gorge of the Rekhula River on one side and the Tiriponi valley on the other. Its shape is elongated and rectangular, with a narrow entrance on the west. This castle is an important historical monument of Georgia, attracting many tourists and researchers.
