Manavi Fortress

Manavi Fortress is a historical structure located in Garekheti, near the village of Manavi in the Sagarejo municipality. It is situated on a high mountain and is one of the centers of the last period of feudal Kakheti. In the second half of the 18th century, Manavi Castle was destroyed, but its historical significance remains unparalleled.

Research indicates that the old part of the castle was built in the 10th-11th centuries, and the new part in the 16th-18th centuries. This testifies to the long history of this place and its importance to the cultural heritage of the region.
