Ninotsminda Cathedral

The Ninotsminda Cathedral, located in the village of Sagarejo in the Kakheti region of Georgia, is an important monument of Georgian architecture. It was built before the Jvari Monastery in Mtskheta and served as an example for the development of later architectural forms. The Ninotsminda complex is surrounded by a fortification with corner towers and a crenellated wall, which was built in the 16th-17th centuries. The entrance gate of the fortification has towers with machicolations. Currently, the complex is used as a women's monastery by the Georgian Orthodox Church, and reconstruction work is underway.
