Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park

Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is a protected area in the city of Borjomi, located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia. Within this territory, you can find the region's tallest tree, the Caucasian fir (Abies nordmanniana), which can reach heights of over 50 meters. In other parts of the reserve where humidity is higher, these trees can grow even taller, especially in western Caucasus and Abkhazia. On dry southern slopes, sessile oak (Quercus petraea), oriental hornbeam (Carpinus orientalis), and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) are found. The uppermost forest zone is dominated by Caucasian downy birch (Betula pubescens) and European rowan (Sorbus aucuparia). The forest floor here is quite clean, which contributes to the preservation of biodiversity.
