Queen Darejan's Palace

Darejan's Palace in Sachino is a unique architectural monument in Tbilisi, built in 1776 specifically for Queen Darejan, the wife of King Erekle II. In the 19th century, it was partially rebuilt to meet modern requirements. Located in the old Isani district, this palace was built on a tower of the city wall at the beginning of the wine-making ascent known as Sirajkhan. Inside the palace's dome were apartments, various service rooms, and even a court church. Interestingly, it was built on the ruins of an old fortress, whose towers and walls were carved from cobblestone and square brickwork dating back to the pre-Georgian era.
