Saint Leon Church

The Armenian Catholic Church in Turkey is located in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul province. Originally built in 1890 as a wooden chapel, the church was demolished by decree on May 14, 1905, due to its decay. A stone church was erected on the site of the destroyed church, which was opened for worship in 1911. The new church became a symbol of faith and cultural heritage for the Armenian people in Turkey.
