Shoreti Monastery

Shoreti Monastery is an ancient Orthodox monastery located in a picturesque rocky valley in the Aspindza district of Samtskhe-Javakheti, in southern Georgia. It comprises several buildings, including the main church dedicated to Saint George the Victorious. This church was built in various periods between the 11th and 15th centuries and was fully restored in 2018 after destruction. It is adorned with beautiful mosaic patterns and ancient inscriptions, making it particularly attractive to visitors. In 2007, the monastery was included in the list of Georgia's national cultural monuments, highlighting its historical and cultural significance.
