Baraleti Church

The Baraleti Church of the Virgin Mary is an ancient Orthodox church built in the Middle Ages in Georgia. It is located in the picturesque village of Baraleti, in the Akhaltsikhe municipality of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. The church is an important historical monument and is situated in the center of an Armenian-Georgian settlement in the historical province of Javakheti. It is a two-nave basilica, and an inscription in Georgian dating back to the 13th century has been preserved on its walls. In 2007, the church was included in the list of national cultural monuments of Georgia, highlighting its historical and cultural significance.
