Yusuf Ziya Pasha Mansion

The construction of Yusuf Ziya Pasha Mansion, one of Rumelihisarı's most significant historical buildings, began in the early 1910s. At that time, Yusuf Ziya Pasha held a high position in Egypt under the leadership of Khedive Abbas Hilmi Pasha. However, due to the outbreak of World War I in 1914 and the Ottoman Empire's entry into the conflict, construction was interrupted as workers were called to the front. Due to the unfinished second and third floors, the building became known as the "Haunted Mansion." In 1993, the mansion was sold to a contractor named Basri Erdoğan.
