Serjazir Suleiman Aga Mosque

Since the mosque was built in honor of Baltaoğlu Süleyman Bey, after whom the Baltalimanı district is named, it is closely associated with this district. Baltaoğlu Süleyman Bey commissioned Pashmakchi Shujaeddin Effendi to build this mosque in his honor. The mosque's pulpit was built by Seyit Mehmet Effendi, who was the imam of Ahmet III and known as "Imam-i Sultani Haji Imam". Hazerpare Ahmet Pasha built the mosque's prayer hall and fountain. In 1648, a well was installed in the mosque's garden. Between 1826 and 1827, the Minister of Food, Arif Effendi, carried out repairs on the mosque, but during the last renovation in 1960, it lost many of its original features. The mosque has a rectangular shape with a single minaret and a single balcony, characteristic of classic Ottoman district mosques.
