Azapkapı Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque

The Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque, also known as Sokollu Mehmet Paşa Camii, is a 16th-century Ottoman architectural monument in Istanbul, Turkey. Located in the picturesque Azapkapı neighborhood of Beyoğlu district, it was built in 1578 by the order of Grand Vizier Sokollu Mehmet Pasha. The mosque was designed and built by Mimar Sinan, a prominent Ottoman architect. The Atatürk Bridge over the Golden Horn is located near the mosque, although this bridge did not exist at the time of the mosque's construction. This historical monument is one of three mosques with the same name built by Mimar Sinan in Istanbul.
