Great Synagogue

The Great Synagogue in Tbilisi, also known as the Sephardic Synagogue or the Synagogue of Jews from Akhaltsikhe, is the main synagogue of the Jewish community in Tbilisi. It is located in the historic district of the city, at Leselidze Street, 45-47, next to Jerusalem Square. In the past, there were two more synagogues in Tbilisi on Anton Katolikos Street, 3 and G. Abesadze Street, 10, but after 1923 they were closed by the Soviet authorities.

Today, the synagogue is the center of the city's Jewish community, surrounded by other Jewish shops and institutions, forming a typical traditional Jewish quarter. This place holds significant importance for Jewish culture and history in Tbilisi.
