Metzaranits Monastery of Hakobavank

Metzaranits Monastery, also known as Surp Hakob, is located atop a hill along the Kolatak River, just a few kilometers from the village of the same name. This monastery is situated in the Martakert region of the Republic of Artsakh, formerly known as the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The residential buildings connecting the Southern Church on the eastern side were constructed in 1725, while the main part of the structures dates back to the 12th-13th centuries. The magnificent architecture and historical significance of this monastery attract numerous tourists and pilgrims every year.
