Selman Ağa Mosque

Selman Ağa Mosque is a historical building that was built in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood of Üsküdar, Istanbul, during the Ottoman Empire. This temple was erected by Selman Ağa, who was the gatekeeper of Beyazıt and the Aga of Dar-Essaa'de. The construction of the mosque began in 1506, and it was opened for worship in the same year. The mosque's architecture reflects Ottoman traditions, with stone and brick walls, a wooden roof, a pulpit, and a place for communion. The mosque's windows open towards the Qibla and to the sides. Although the sanctuary itself does not have great architectural value, the old brick minaret to its right gives it a special character. Also, on the mosque grounds, you can see a triangular fountain, which adds uniqueness to this historical place.
